Last Updated on 08.07.2024
Fact checked by: Alex Cabal

Ever played at an online casino using iDebit for your deposits and withdrawals? If not, don’t worry – because I’m going to walk you through how it all works right here. Hand-in-hand, if you wish?

Put simply, iDebit is a digital payments service that lets you pay for things online either direct from your bank, or via an iDebit account. And guess what? It goes together with online casinos like steak and red wine. Why? Well, it’s fast, it’s secure and, most of the time, it’s fully compatible with the market’s best bonuses.

Using iDebit at casino sites – the good, the bad and the ugly…

If you hadn’t heard of iDebit until now, all you really need to know is that it’s an online payment service that offers both an online iDebit account where you can store funds, and direct online bank transfers.

Now, allow me to start off with a quick run-through of the top pros and cons of using iDebit at online casinos. Which I can reveal are:

iDebit casinos
iDebit Casinos: Pros and Con
  • Speedy deposits and withdrawals
  • Fort Knox-like security rep
  • Available at a lot of casinos
  • Relatively simple to set-up
  • iDebit’s only available in Canada

How to deposit at your favorite casino via iDebit

Ever made an online casino debit card deposit before? If you have, I’ve some news for ya – depositing at an iGaming site using iDebit is basically the same.

Now, what I mean by that is simple. All you need to do to make your first casino deposit, is:

  • Create an account with the casino.
  • Visit their “Payments” page.
  • Hit “Deposit”, then select “iDebit”.
  • Choose an amount, then confirm it.
  • You’ll be redirected to your bank.
  • Confirm the transaction with them.
  • That’s it – your deposit’s in.

Of course, there are one or two caveats. For starters, iDebit’s only accepted at casinos in Canada for the time being – unfortunately, it’s the only country where the service is currently available.

What’s more, while iDebit can be used without an account for direct bank transfers, registering an account with them is definitely advisable before betting if you want to iron-out any potential delays. Setting up an account will also help you benefit from fee-free transactions when using your existing iDebit balance for casino deposits.

Getting registered is dead-easy, you just need to:

  • Visit the iDebit site.
  • Hit “Sign Up” in the top right.
  • Select a bank from the drop-down box.
  • Log in to sync your account.
  • Approve your first transaction.

And that’s it. I told you it was easy, didn’t I?

What about withdrawals? Well, here’s how they work…

In my years of gaming, I’ve found that every casino with iDebit support sets its own rules in this regard. But guess what? Most of the sites displayed in my banners on this page offer full support for iDebit on both deposits and withdrawals – and ordinarily, their bonuses will be iDebit-compatible to boot. Wowzers.

Just remember that, if you’re visiting me from outside of Canada, you’ll see banners for sites that support different payment options instead…

Anyhow, requesting a withdrawal from any of the sites on my iDebit casino list is plain-sailing. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Hit-up your casino’s “Withdrawals” page.
  • Select “iDebit” from the options.
  • Click “Withdraw”.
  • Expect your funds within 48 hours.

48 hours is pretty fast, right? And to be fair, that withdrawal time is one of the biggest draws of casinos with iDebit support. Just keep in mind that, if you want to transfer funds from iDebit to your bank account afterwards, you might need to wait up to five business days.

What’s more, it’s worth remembering that if you used iDebit for your deposit when claiming a bonus, some casinos have a rule that you’ll also need to use iDebit to cash out, too.

Do casinos with iDebit as a payment option require verification?

Whether you’re using Amex at an online casino, PayPal or iDebit, there are always going to be verification hurdles to jump, I’m afraid. The good news is that these are rarely overly burdensome or frustrating. Which is good, ‘cause casinos are all about having fun, yeah?

As I said before, it’s wise to set-up an account with iDebit before you jump into iGaming, otherwise you might find yourself having to deal with “Register Bank Account” notifications and the like each time you make a casino deposit or withdrawal. Basically, once you’ve entered your bank info with iDebit once, you’ll never have to do it again.

As for verification measures imposed by casinos that take iDebit, these will usually take the shape of standardized Know Your Customer (KYC) checks – which I’d also advise getting out of the way early on. To complete a KYC check with your casino, simply:

  • Visit your “Account” page.
  • Locate the “KYC” or “Verify” option.
  • Upload a photo of your ID.
  • Wait two-to-five days to be verified.

The advantage of getting all your checks out of the way early is of course that you won’t have to faff around with this stuff when you come to cash out. Result.

Typical transaction times at iDebit casinos

I’ve talked a fair bit about iDebit’s all-round speediness already, but here’s a quick, easy-to-read reminder of the facts and figures:

Average iDebit casino deposit timeInstant.
Average iDebit casino withdrawal time48 hours or less.
iDebit account-to-bank-account withdrawal timeUp to five business days.

Fees associated with casinos that offer iDebit

The vast majority of iDebit-friendly casinos, including those you’ll see in my banners, don’t charge deposit and withdrawal fees for using this payment method. None at all – which is grand. The same goes for several sports betting sites out there. Result.

But unfortunately, iDebit itself does charge the occasional fee for the odd bit of admin. Here’s a bit about their fee structure:

Use caseFees
Creating an iDebit account.Free.
Making a payment (e.g., a casino deposit) from your iDebit balance.Free.
Making a payment (e.g. a casino deposit again) direct from your bank.$1.50 USD/CAD
Withdrawing funds from your iDebit account to your bank account.$2.00 USD/CAD.

Security measures you’ll see at casinos that take iDebit

In my recent guide to playing at online casinos with Neteller, I waxed lyrical about a few important security features Neteller offers to its users. Well, it’s a similar situation with iDebit – anyone who uses the service can benefit from pretty epic levels of cyber security, thanks to the fact the service serves-up:

  • 128-bit SSL encryption.
  • Multi-factor authentication.
  • No records stored.

What’s the top casino that accepts iDebit right now?

As I said before, iDebit casinos are currently on offer in Canada only, but even in The Great White North, provincial restrictions mean that different Canucks will have access to different sites.

On this page, and elsewhere on my site, you’ll see geo-targeted banners for top-rated casinos that support iDebit in your area. And if you’re visiting me from somewhere that doesn’t offer iDebit yet, you’ll see banners for other great bookmakers and casinos that accept different trusted payment options. Either way, every site here is a blast – I promise.

Single-out your ideal casino with iDebit support using these expert tips…

Before registering with any online casino, it’s vital you do your homework to double-check the brand’s offering all the games, services and bonuses you need. The top three things you should keep an eye-out for, are:

Licenses and reputation

Any casino with iDebit support out there should hold a legit license that’s valid in your state or province. I’d also recommend digging around some online forums to see what kind of reputation they have among fellow gamers.

Fair bonuses and games

You can get an idea of whether a brand’s welcome bonus – and any other offers they have up-for-grabs – are competitive by using my comparisons here at Game Champions. If you’ll be playing at slots, it’s also wise to keep your eyes peeled for brands that offer Random Number Generators (RNGs), which ensure that game outcomes are always fair.

A well-balanced game selection

The best iDebit casino sites ought to offer access to all the games you know and love. But diversity is important, too. Try to single-out sites offering games from multiple genres and software developers. Variety is the spice of life, after all.

So… should you use iDebit for casino payments?

I’m a pretty huge fan of iDebit, and here’s why. Both casino deposits and withdrawals are fast when you rely on this payment method, the option of using iDebit without creating an account is there if you want it and, as far as I can see, most casinos’ bonuses tend to be iDebit-compatible.

The obvious downside, of course, is that only Canadians can currently use the service. But should this change in your country anytime soon, iDebit is a fast, safe and more than dependable payment option for iGaming – I can assure you

Common FAQs about casinos with iDebit support

I’ve tried to be as thorough as I can in my guide here, but I’ve a feeling some of you might still have a burning question or two for me. If so, I hope the following FAQs provide the answers you’re looking for:

🤔 Which banks currently support iDebit?

As I said before, only Canadians can use casinos with iDebit listed as a payment option for the time being. You’ll also need to have a bank account with one of the following banks to gain access to the iDebit service in the first place:

  • Bank of Montreal.
  • Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
  • Desjardins.
  • National Bank.
  • Royal Bank of Canada.
  • Scotiabank.
  • Simplii Financial.
  • TD Canada Trust.

🏦 Can I make one iDebit casino deposit using funds from two different bank accounts?

Sadly, no. You see, iDebit is set up in such a way that, while you can connect multiple bank accounts to the service, each individual purchase can only use funds from one account at a time: i.e., you can’t split payments between two accounts. Bummer, eh?

❓ What support does iDebit offer if a casino transaction doesn’t go through?

In short, none. If you have an issue with a deposit or withdrawal not being processed correctly, it’s on the casino (and not iDebit) to sort it for you. The good news? All the casinos listed in my banners offer truly top-tier customer support – and it’s often available 24/7.
