How Wanderluck mystery boxes work
At Wanderluck, you can open mystery boxes with different travel-related items. You buy these boxes using Coins, which you can claim through promotions or purchase in the store. Each box also contains some Coins.
Based on my observations, 10 Coins costs $1. Therefore, if you purchase a Coin package for $100 (or $9.99), you’ll typically receive 1,000 Coins.
After unboxing a physical item, you may choose to sell it back to Wanderluck for Coins or request shipping to your location. However, if it’s a trip ticket, you redeem it when you want to travel.
Mystery boxes
Wanderluck features mystery boxes themed around different vacations, holidays, tours, and similar trips. I saw some with tickets, bags, clothes, jewelry, shoes, gift cards, watches, and more. At the time of my review, these were the popular boxes:
- Disney World Private VIP Tour
- Carnival Bahamas Cruise
- Wimbledon Center Court Debenture Week 1 + Claridge’s
- Vail Family Ski Weekend
From the descriptions, it’s easy to tell what the trips are about. Each box has a fixed price point based on the nature of the travel experience. For instance, Disney World Private VIP Tour costs 1,450 Coins to unbox, while it’s 240 Coins for the Vail Family Ski Weekend.
I checked the Disney World Private VIP Tour box, and the best item is a Grand Floridian VIP tour guide worth $29,000. Other items include a Gucci Letters necklace, a Disneyland zip jacket, and a color stone ring.
In contrast, the best reveal from the Vail Family Ski Weekend is a trip worth $4,800. The box also contains Tasco waterproof binoculars, wireless open-ear headphones, and skateboards, to name a few.
Probability and demo
During my review, I previewed potential items in a box before opening. Wanderluck displays the probability of each one, so you know what to expect beforehand.
To illustrate, I opened an NYC Boutique Weekend box for 90 Coins. The top prize, which included the trip ticket, had a 0.002% probability. Meanwhile, the box also included a Platinum Preppy Fountain Pen with an 8.548% likelihood.
Another interesting feature I found on Wanderluck is the Demo Open. It lets you test a mystery box before opening it with your Coins.
Deals
Wanderluck supports deals for highly expensive mystery boxes. With them, you can potentially open such boxes for a lower amount, but it all depends on chance.
For instance, I tried a deal for a Princess Sun Princess Caribbean Cruise box that costs 60,000 Coins. The deal allowed me to unbox for 6,600 Coins but with only a 10% probability of getting it. I increased the probability to 50%, and the cost was 33,000 Coins.
Selling back and shipping
If you unbox a physical item, Wanderluck allows you to sell it back for Coins. In my experience, the process is instant. You’ll see the proposed buyback amount from the platform, and once you accept, the Coins are added to your balance.
On the other hand, you may choose to receive the item. If so, the platform will ask you to provide your delivery details and pay shipping fees. I noted that the cost varies depending on the item type and distance. The same also applies to the delivery time, which can be between 3 and 30 days.
Ticket redemption
When you unbox travel tickets at Wanderluck, you can redeem them at any time that fits your plans. However, it must be within a year of the opening date.
From my findings, the site will assign a travel concierge to help you plan the trip and bookings following your preferred schedule. The inclusion of a concierge significantly increased my Wanderluck ratings for this review.

My conclusion is that Wanderluck is a reliable platform if you’re interested in travel mystery boxes. The platform owns its niche well by covering trips and vacations to many popular destinations in the US. You can preview potential items and their probability, and even try a demo unboxing before using your Coins. Also, Provably Fair keeps all unboxings random.
