Dead Island 2 is a 2015 action role-playing video game developed by Sumo Digital and published by Deep Silver. The game is the sequel to 2011's Dead Island and was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
What is Cross Play
Cross play is a feature in video games that allows players on different platforms to play together in the same game. It has become increasingly popular in recent years, as it promotes inclusivity and expands the player base. One highly anticipated game that fans are eager to know about cross play is Dead Island 2. In this article, we will explore whether Dead Island 2 supports cross play or not.
Does Dead Island 2 support Cross Play
Dead Island 2 does not offer cross-play functionality, meaning you cannot play with or invite players on different platforms. However, the game does support cross-generation play, enabling you to invite or matchmake with friends or strangers playing on the same console generation as you. For example if you are playing on Xbox Series X you can join up with a buddy playing on his Xbox One.
To allow others to join your game, go to the main menu and select Continue Game, then choose either Public or Invite Only for your game type. In Public mode, other players can connect with you through matchmaking, while in Invite Only, only players you invite can join your game.
How to Co-Op in Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2 offers the option to play co-op with up to two players. Playing with others adds more enjoyment and excitement to the game, compared to playing solo.
Initially, co-op mode in Dead Island 2 is not immediately accessible. It becomes available after you leave Emma Jaunt's mansion and progress through the main quest, "Call the Cavalry."
To initiate co-op play, navigate to the menu bar and select the Social tab. From there, you can invite your friends to join your game. However, if you want to play with strangers, you must return to the main menu and choose Join Game. For random matchmaking, simply select Quick Join.
