Connect PlayStation with Steam for rewards!
Tutorial: Connecting PSN and Steam Accounts
Sony is beginning to port more and more of its games to PC, which has led to Steam introducing a handy feature: The ability to link your Steam and PSN accounts. This feature debuted with the release of Spider-Man Remastered on PC and is also available for other titles such as Helldivers 2. The process of connecting the accounts is straightforward and often rewards players with in-game bonuses. And the best part is that it’s easy to do!
Here’s How To Connect Steam & PSN
Thankfully, it’s not rocket science to link your accounts. First off, you’ll need a Steam and a PSN account – shocker! From there, just follow these steps:
- Find a PlayStation game for PC (that’s up-to-date) on Steam, and then install it and launch it on your PC.
- A window will pop up at launch, and you’ll be asked for your PSN credentials.
- Enter your PSN credentials, and voilà!
Doing this once should suffice, and your Steam and PSN accounts will remain connected!
The kicker: you need to connect the accounts from a PC with a game you own on said PC. Trying to link your accounts via PlayStation 4 or 5 with a game that is eligible in theory will get you nowhere. So if you try to link your accounts from a game like Helldivers 2 on PS5, you’ll have no option to do so. You need Helldivers 2, or any other eligible game, on PC to connect the accounts.
Eligible Games To Connect Your Accounts
There is already a fair share of games that are eligible for connecting the accounts. Here’s a list:
- Helldivers 2
- Horizon Forbidden West
- The Last of Us Part I
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- God of War
- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
- Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
- Ratched & Clank: Rift Apart
- Helldivers
- Destiny 2 Lightfall
- Returnal
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- Predator Hunting Grounds
- Days Gone
Benefits You Get From Connecting Your Accounts
By connecting your Steam and PSN accounts, you can unlock various in-game rewards for supported titles. For instance, in Spider-Man Remastered, this includes a special suit, a gadget, and additional skill points. Although it’s important to mention that in the case of Spider-Man Remastered, these rewards are not exclusive and can also be earned through regular in-game progression.
Furthermore, linking your accounts allows you to manage your communication preferences, and to stay up to date with great deals and new PlayStation titles coming to PC. This functions much like a newsletter and could be worthwhile for many of you.
