When does Chrono Odyssey Come Out

Release Date of Chrono Odyssey

The game is set to come out on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X in 2024. It was first anticipated to be released in the first quarter of the year, but the release is now expected some time after summer in 2024.

On March 21st this year, Chrono Studio's CEO Bong-Gun Bae appeared on State of Unreal, GDC 2024 hosted by Epic Games.

Chrono Odyssey CEO: Hello everyone, this is Bong-Gun Bae from Chrono Studio. Today we're excited to share the progress of our flagship title Chrono Odyssey.

Since 2021 we've been focused on creating an MMORPG that manipulates space and time. With our team of nearly 120 top tier developers, it has expanded into an open world action MMORPG where gamers can enjoy action, adventure, growth, and item crafting in our vast open world. In this open world players will have to manipulate their environments by traveling between past, present, and future worlds to save Setera.

In Setera, there are six distinct combat classes and 18 weapons. All classes can manipulate space and time, giving players a unique battle experience. Players can travel through space and go to designated time zones to gain advantage during thrilling battles.

We've used data layers to create real-time environments and layer them on top of one another to enable players to travel through past, present, and future states of the Setera landscape seamlessly. Players can gain additional resources through traveling to the past and fight against stronger enemies in the future. In this instance, we're traveling from the present to the future.

World partition allows us to efficiently create a massive open world exceeding 12 square kilometers with about a half million actors and then stream it smoothly to enhance the cinematic look and feel of the environment all while allowing for multiplayer adventures.

And finally through our extremely flexible customization system, players can freely express their personality by creating their character, ensuring that each character you meet in Setera is as unique as your own.

Chrono Odyssey Factions

We've seen glimpses of how amazing you can make your character look. Before we get into the different factions, take a look at these face designs in Chrono Odyssey:

The Guardians

This faction comprises of superior entities who oversee everything in Setera and their followers. Guardians can have different appearances and temperaments and are not native to this world. They arrived in this world after their own worlds were destroyed and were summoned by the Great Ones.

The Void

Members of the Void are immortal and possess immense power. Setera can only keep The Void and its champions at bay by limiting their powers. However, the power of the Void is growing and we will be tasked with stopping them.

The Broken

They are called the World Movers. The Void has infected their bodies, causing them to have seizures and problems with their bodily functions. When the Void infection gets really bad, it messes up the energy in their bodies and makes them act like zombies. They still have some sense of who they are, but they attack anything they see to get their energy back.

World Movers

The World Movers are the witnesses of the Void's destruction of their homeland. They have fled to Setera and have been blessed with strength or luck, enabling them to face challenges and formidable enemies. There are three factions within the World Movers, but their ultimate goal is to ensure survival and prosperity for the entire faction. While their goals align, the factions engage in power struggles and constantly fight for influence, rights, and personal interests.

The Outcasts

The Outcasts are former World Movers who were expelled from their faction due to internal disagreements. This group is notorious for immoral acts and is hostile towards the other World Movers. Being human, they can easily hide and are known to deceive World Movers.
